One of the downfalls of getting the glass in is it loses its spot in the garage

So today I added oil to the oil bath cleaner. About an hr later it all leaked out all over the manifold, so I guess I'm doing the conversion to a paper filter. This truck is just not happy with me owning it, it was happy in Montana I guess. On a good not she idled for quite a while without a hiccup. I put the timing light on her and it was around 4 degrees BTDC. I actually drove it around the block.....what a pig lol.....only thing I noticed was stepping on the brakes was like stepping on a cinder block, didn't stop to well so that tomorrow's job to look into that.

Is there a hole or something in the base? None should leak out.

There must be. I'll clean it up for a better look but it all leaked out in less than an hr.....what a mess

Having the truck come out looking so original I started to hate these aftermarket guages. Made me cringe to look at them. The original was shot so I bought a nos cj5 speedometer, since my yr truck came with these late and i like the look

I took a PC of sheet metal and applied bondo glass to it then clamped it to the back of the dash behind the holes then worked it from there. Cutting a big hole in a dash with a jig saw is not easy.... I cut the hole for the speedometer in the sheet metal first before gluing it on then worked the fiberglass to get it featured into the dash

Scored this Jerry can locally, I dont think it ever had anything in it, clean as new and absolutely no smell. The handle was bent so I just cut it off, straightened it out and welded it back on. I also bought all the material to reproduce the strap, If it comes out good maybe I'll sell some.

I wonder what you guys carry in these cans ?? Just for show I hope

So I got the other speedo in, of course the fuel gauge would not work. After a long time of wire checking, pulling out gauges and checking wiring I took floor board out to get to sender, the freaking brass float was full of gas. Bought new last yr. Told ya this thing is cursed

Since I dont have luck with new parts I created an access hole for the sender, going to make a stainless plate to screw in, now a 3 hr job will take 10 minutes

After fussing with the old tailgate for a day I just couldn't justify the hours of labor it would have taken to fix it. It was twisted, warped and rusted so I took the plunge and bought one from Walcks. It came so perfect it took me less than an hr to clean, scuff and spray with epoxy primer and color. Tomorrow the stencils

Is it so hard for the people who make these aftermarket bed parts to hold up the original to see if the holes line up....I mean really

The master overcomes again! Not in your plans, I know, but it does look great.
