New ball stud came in today so I finally got my clutch bellcrank changed out as well as my clutch return cable! Here you can definitely see there was an error in the mfg of the first ball stud I received compared to the new. I was so happy when the new one threaded right into the tcase :bananatool:

Now I need to pull the Jeep out and take her for a spin and make sure I have my clutch cable adjusted correctly. Any tips?? When my clutch pedal is out the whole way and no pressure is on the fork, my cable is loose, meaning I can push it up and down and such: it’s not tight like a banjo string but it still has enough pressure to not fall out of the fork. Then when I push in the pedal it grabs and pulls smooth, but until I drive it I don’t know where the clutch grabs/lets out just yet.

Sounds a bit on the loose side, but a pic would would help to see the “droop”
On mine, there is no “droop” My clutch engages with just a little travel.

Here is a quick video of the cable with the clutch out in it’s full up position. First part of the video shows the cable vertical movement and second part shows the lateral slack by pulling out on the cable/fork. I have about 1/2”-3/4” of free play before it really starts to pull the fork. I’ll check my FSM but just wondering what is considered normal.

I think I may have to cut some of my cable threads, maybe 3/4” or so. It’s bottomed out on the bellcrank and the clutch is letting out at the end/top of pedal travel. I can’t tighten my cable anymore than what’s in the video.

Got the clutch cable done tonight :D clutch is now grabbing/engaging at the halfway point of the pedal travel between pedal on the floor to pedal completely out and I have about 3/4” of play when it is the whole way out :bananatool: I call that a victory!

I got to chatting with the PO of my Jeep this weekend and he sent me some pics of it when he found it. He said that all it did before he bought it was plow snow at an old man’s cabin along Lake Wallenpaupak in the winter time. Other than that it just sat. I guess the guy passed away and it sat outside under a tarp for 20 years before the guy before me bought it and got it running. It’s so cool to see/learn the history of these old Jeeps. I did find out that it came with the White Cap soft top, too bad it was too far gone to save according to the PO

Also got these to frame and hang in the shop

That white w/red trim is the exact combination my Tux was back in '65 when my Dad brought it home. I still have the red top boot and spare tire cover. It will be a while longer, but it will be retored back to what is shown in that ad. And yes, our Tux lived on the beach which is what rusted it out several times over!

All loaded up for tomorrow. Going a little over an hour away to Farmers and Fenders Jeep Show in Biglerville, PA at the historic Round Barn. It is about 8 miles West of Gettysburg, PA. I have no doubt the Jeep would make it on its own but it would take a little while with no overdrive and lots of straight stretches of road at 50 mph+ :)

I'm 3 hour from home up helping my Mom. If I make it back tonight, I'll post up the numbers. There were a lot more Tuxes than most people think!

We had an awesome time at the Farmers and Fenders Jeep/Off-road Show! It was all mostly Jeeps with a couple other makes mixed in. An old K5 Blazer and a 60s Bronco. There was axe throwing, vendors, food, cornhole, and the Thirsty Farmer Brewing Company beer garden. Good time!

Here is the winner of Best Classic and the Jeep I was runner-up to: it’s an 83 CJ7 completely original with the original build sheet and everything! Way cool!

If anyone gets by the Round Barn in Biglerville, PA it’s really a cool place and you should check it out. Underneath is a market with all sorts of flowers, produce, and baked goods/food open I believe daily. I love looking at how old barns and buildings are built. They rent this out for events (like this) as well as weddings.

Next project: get rid of my home-brew seat brackets and work on mounting my seats to these seat frames (thanks adams77!).

    As a follow-up, here are some Tuxedo Park (MKlV) numbers by calandar year;
1964 - 4191 units (production began in February with 5 units built that month)
    1965 - 1945 units
    1966 - 1196 units
    1967 - 87 units (production ended in May/June)
Total - 7419 units (I have never verified if these numbers are only 8322, or both 8322 (CJ5a) and 8422 (CJ6a) numbers.
These numbers are by calandar year, not model year. Also, Jeeps were often titled as the year sold, not the model year. My own was bought new by my Dad in (Spring) 1965 and has always been titled as a '65. It is acutually a 1964 built in June '64.

Way cool, thanks Donny! I tried looking on this site at the VIN checker and I couldn’t find my numbers, do you think mine was built in ‘65 or do you think it was built in ‘64 and titled as a ‘65 like you say? My
