    Are these Jeep?
I sent my dad on a scavenger hunt looking for some seat hinges, and he found these. They are the color of one of our old Willys pickups, which may or may not be a coincidence.

They are not the early style front passenger seat hinges for a CJ? Before bucket seats?

These aren't slotted. Were the early ones slotted? I think the earliest CJ5 we had was a '63.

What goes between the under-driver's-seat tank and the tub, if anything? Are there spacers, an old piece of inner tube, or does the tank sit metal-to-metal?

My 1978 CJ7 has two--one on the driver side body, one on the passenger's side body-- they serve as bottom door hinge piece which receive pins which are a part of the hinge that is attached to the door. The top body hinges are different. ***Later Edit: Said door hinge piece = no oil hole & not cast--so not the item!

The only thing that doesn't make sense with this is that we never owned any jeeps newer than a '70. (Just one red '78-ish CJ5 that came as a package deal and left just as complete as it arrived.) Maybe they were in a box of junk parts in some other jeep?

They were on my 70 and may have been used later. May have been associated with a specific brand of soft top.

The pins are on the hood side. Those look like the cowl side.

I'll bet they are old Willys pickup. They look too short to be hood hinges and I think casting them for doors of a soft top would be expensive...

Lee were your door pivots cast or bent steel. I've only seen bent steel on Jeeps with canvas tops...

Glove box...I get the "washer", that would aid in keeping the stop in place
what is the tear drop thin springy gizmo beside it??? Remnants of the old fiber glove box are still there and it sure looks to have lived there a very long time

i can't think of any hinges like that on the pickups I've had. Were they a 'late' thing?
