noticed that the oil pressure on my 67 F134 is higher than it used to be. At idle (warm) we used to sit at about 10 psi, now closer to 20. at 45 mph used to be about 40-45 and now is more like 55. also, although maybe a coincidence I have developed a leak around the valve cover at the right rear corner. I replaced the valve cover gasket 4 years/4000 miles ago. Engine was rebuilt 5000 miles ago.
looked at strings on oil pressure but they all seem to discuss lower oil pressure, not higher.
    Ideas?
    thx, bh

Will cold weather raise the viscosity enough to do that? Or would the warm engine negate the cold air and keep viscosity normal?

At startup it would, but it would drop again when the engine warms up.

If the gauge is electrical, check the wiring and connections, you may be getting false readings from excess resistance.

The answer to this question could be the key.....but 10 lbs pressure difference isn't much really. Another question is how long has the engine run while you're seeing the pressure difference? 30 minutes? 45 minutes? An hour? More?
