Picked up the new seats for my 66 build yesterday. The seats I had were to thick, the steering wheel was in my lap and I could hardly work the brake. The old (still brand new) seat Didn’t slide. I wanted to stay with the OE seat mounting brackets as it took months and $$$ to find the correct brackets.
    Here’s the old seat.

The Roxor seats cost $68 each I think.

Came with head rest and slider on both seats. Be sure to stop at Home Depot on the way home and buy 8mm nuts.

I reused the mounting brackets I made for the other seats. I could have just welded a bar between the original seat frame tubes but I hate to modify them.

Measure twice drill once. Here is where I made a hole 1/4” off then weld, grind and redrill.

    So this is much better.

Leg room. 15”+ from the dash.

Wheelhouse cut out is now really effective.

I often say “ you get what you pay for”, and these are cheap so fingers crossed they don’t fall apart going down the road.

Overall easy swap and bargain price for replacement seats.

What is the new measurement between seat and steering wheel?

Also let us know if they are comfortable.:)

It seems like I only gained about an inch. Now it’s about 6” But because the seat is further back it’s making it lots easier to move my legs around.

I havent done a long road trip yet, but with the time I have in em, they seem decently comfy. Not too soft or too firm. Obviously no idea yet how they age.

I see you have a Roxor. Do you have the seats in your Jeep also? Post a photo if you can.

Nope, but I've putzed around in the Roxor, so I have an idea on the seats themselves. The tool boxes on the Roxor are nifty. I have a seat setup I don't like in my '57, so all options are on the table. The Roxor seat swap might be one of the better ones as it'll give me a toolbox back and not conflict with a PTO lever.

Looks great! Did you notch both driver and passenger wheel wells out? I've been thinking about doing this but I just re-upholstered my original seats... May use them until they crap out again. Would love the extra leg room though.

I got really excited about this until I reached out to my dealers and they are all coming back with a cost of $199 from Mahindra. I have a third dealer triple checking.

Other price discrepancies from the online prices were the clutch master cylinder came back $99 instead of $53, while the pedal pack, brake booster and springs were minor differences of $5-10 each.

Fun's over! I just got prices back from four dealers then checked the website. Prices have increased anywhere from 30% to 400% on parts.

Fine work. I like how basic and plain they look. Can you easily remove the headrests?

Bummer about the new price gouging. :banghead: That sucks because these are not $200 chairs.

Wow!, that’s an awful big increase!! I’m pretty sure mine were $70 or so.
The headrest does come off easily.

My local dealer confirmed the $69 price last month, but said shipping would be about $100.
Took the wind out of my sails!

Oh well. Looks like they figured out how things work here. If there is a demand, raise prices until it peters out. I don't mean that as a negative on capitalism, just as a reflection on why good deals don't seem to last.

Only question I have is, will the passenger seat clear the dash enough to use the tool box? Been looking at the seats and that is what I've been scratching my head about.
