I saw one post that there may be a clearance issue between the front drive shaft and the original Waldron Exhaust when doing the D30 conversion.

Does anyone have any experience with this issue or potential ways to overcome it if it does exist?

    Thanks

I have a Dauntless V6 with Waldron exhaust and converted to D30 with no exhaust interference problem.

I had issues with the stock exhaust after I installed a 2" lift but that was from the lift, not the axle

I ended up leaving front driveshaft off until i did my saginaw swap and changed the exhaust for that.

Cant imagine yhere is that much of a change though between the d27/25 and d30.

Any way you can loosen the exhaust and move it to get the room you need?

Thanks for the reply. I haven’t ordered the exhaust yet, I was checking to see if it would work before I went ahead. The D30 is I. The shop getting rehearsed. I’ll know soon enough I suppose. So yours interfered with drive shaft? Did you have to completely change the whole exhaust or just the y piece?

Other then shock mounts being reversed, the Dana 30 is pretty much a direct bolt in swap. Great time to get rid of the tiny u joint drivelines that were worn out before they got home from the dealer too.

Had problems with my Walden Exhaust because of the 2.5 inch lift I put on, was hitting the front drive shaft. One thing I notice on the Walden Exhaust, it crosses over under the engine, transmission. The FSM shows the cross over, above the skid plate at the cross member. I sent them pictures with measurements and they said everything was to specs. . Where Walden crosses, there can be a issue with the front drive shaft. Ever thing bolt up nice and easy. Was nice to get a exhaust and install it and not have to take the Jeep somewhere and have it made.. If I was going to 4-wheel the exhaust might be a issue

They sent me a small piece of pipe and I welded it in on the passenger side, at the manifold, which lowered the pipe under the drive shaft

Thanks for the info! I’ll see if I can get the spacer when I order the exhaust tomorrow. I really appreciate your reply!
