I assume you still have a stock Jeep chassis?..............and if so with the 700r4 things like a dual exhaust will get real tight between the frame rails. Wires can always go in the space that's left.

On my 67 I ran the loom inside the body like my TJ was. Only exit where needed to connect to something. Very happy with it.

I'm considering this as well. Would be interested to see some pics of where you ran it and exited etc. Did you go down both sides of body or just one? How did you cross to the brake lights?

I went down the driver's side and exited behind the roll bar in the rear corner above the tail light. Then crossed to the passenger side above the rear cross member picking up some trailer wiring along the way.

Messed around a bunch yesterday. Got the tranny lines and tranny cooler and electric fan and radiator sorted out. Made a bracket to hold the radiator down but also sandwich it using the fan. I feel like a hero. Tomorrow I am sure I will feel like the usual donkey.

I also got the fuel lines, filter and pump done. Was a challenge using the stock fuel tank, since the TBI needs a return line. But I am going to try to use what I did using the gas tank drain plug as the out line and the oem as the return (since it is smaller).

Using the drain plug as a fuel outlet to your motor will probably give you & your TBI fuel system a headache............Most if not all fuel tanks suspend the fuel outlet from above so that the line is always off the bottom of the tank by an inch or so................taking fuel directly from the drain on the bottom will probably give your filter and TBI fits...

So in other words the fuel drain never really fully drains the fuel? ? ?

That's where the crud settles...It'll clog your fuel delivery system.

Personal experience here.....I had this happen with a "new" under seat tank that was set up as a bottom feeder. Plugged the hard line and the pre-carb filter. Fuel pump also went out about the same time, no evidence of it being related but the timing was suspect.

I solved this problem with an additional filter after the tank outlet and modified the tank outlet fitting to eliminate sucking in the junk from the bottom of the tank.

    I wouldn't say that.

Honestly, if I bought a new tank and it came with a bottom-feeding outlet, I wouldn't think twice about it. Given the choice, I would prefer a tank with a higher output location. I've seen black flakes in gas that I've moved from one tank to another and had to use a fine-mesh paper filter to clear it up. That gas ended up being for lawn mower use though, I didn't trust it.

I am going to “pilot” this with it as is for now. I need to keep going... if I burn up a filter I will address it then. I need to get it to fire up before I lose interest. Again. Again. Again.

My "new" tank was a 3rd world produced unit by Omix, quality was a big part of the issue. It had a ton of junk in it from the factory, I did my best to clean it out but obviously didn't get it all.

If you are satisfied with your fliter, I say go for it.

Right. So that is what I am thinking. Basically I will be purging the evil spirits from the tank with every fill up until it’s clean! Well. That’s my theory.

With a GOOD filter (or two?), depending if the micron rating is small enough, you'll run into more issue with clogged filters than you will with debris in your injectors. If you do run into issues, just be aware a restricted filter will be the first place you should check when troubleshooting odd symptoms.

    Donkey here.

Spent a few hours today fabricating a bracket to mount the Wilwood brake pedal i went with to the firewall. I’ve never fabricated anything until this jeep so go easy. I borrowed my friends millermatic. Enjoying the progress. Anyone on here have experience in the Wilwood pedal though. Got a “throw” question.

That looks really good, but I have no experience with the Wilwood pedal sorry.
