First time I noticed that the turn signals on a YJ are square too.

Got the round light mounts mounted into the grill. Had to decide to I recess them or do I stick them out kind of bug-eyed. I went bug-eye.

There are some more photos on page 1. Will add some more shortly showing the tub all cut "back halfed". And the driveline mounted in the frame.

Got my front bumper cut down, and finished up the flat plate to mount a winch to the front end. Need to pick up a new steering gear box, as the old one is kind of clunky, and once the winch plate is welded it, it'll make replacing the steering box difficult.

Still debating color choice. I want to do a two tone, but haven't got that down. Blue/dark blue, dark gray/silver, black/gray, dark green/light green, or red and black.

OK, well no more pics yet. But I decided to go with XJ rear springs and that stretched the wheelbase to just shy of 110". So I may end up making the bed 66" long. So to summarize, pulled the '95 YJ driveline, and put in a '92 engine and transmission, and a D300. I decided to pull the Dana 44's out from under the CJ5 and put them in place. Got the brake lines in and fuel lines in. Need to work on making the YJ tank mount, and I need to get driveshafts cut and longer. Gonna use a CJ5 front clip and grill. Afterall the frame is at least a CJ6, so may as well stay with the CJ theme.

As for the tub, its basically sitting. Decided to replace the drive side floor, and need to do the driver side rocker. Got a replacement YJ steering box and all the steering linkage is in place. Got all the accessories mounted to the engine, and the wiring harness is all plugged in.

As for color, gonna go black with the metal hard top, and red on the body.

I pillaged a number of components from the CJ5, so that is basically now a rolling chassis with YJ axles, a tub and cage mounted to it.

My son has been fairly active in helping with this one. Its a nice father and son project. I'll post some pics this week. The out building is kinda jammed packed with the CJ6 rolling chassis and the half cab mounted on rollers.

Welded in the new rockers on the driver side and spread some filler on the body panels.

Going to DC Tuesday and Wednesday, so pics will have to wait till I get back.

Having a hard time finding the paint color I want, look at Summit, Duplicor and Kirker sites, not finding what I want.

Mocking up the fuel tank mounts. got all the fuel lines plumbed, and the brake lines are also in. Wrapped the Cherry Bomb in some wrap so heat does not transfer into the cab. Ordered a patch panel for the driver side floor, probably gonna order another replacement and redo the driver side rocker, its too warped.

Got the doors mounted better, and cut out the driver's side floor, and fitting the weld in panel. got the windshield mounted, and will make a top extension for the windshield to fit the Meyer top. the CJ7 doors are higher than the Meyer doors, so instead of cutting the top, I can raise the front mounting surface. Gonna have to make new side panels and rear panel anyways.

finished all the floor replacement and metal work on the cab. Need to make new body mounts to go from the YJ tub to the CJ6 tub. Need to cut about 22" out of the Meyer metal top.

The extended fender flares are going away, and I picked up some nice fiberglass units to replace them. Time to start putting the streering wheel back in, master cylinder, power steering hoses, battery tray and hooking up all the connections.

I want to stay away form LED. I'd like to find a 2" cone light, and double them up, one for running one for stop and turn. Or try and use euro YJ lights with th amber middle for turn.....
