Higher pressure... Faster recovery. Both of which I don't need for home use.

    Supposedly they are also quieter.

Higher pressure means that the tank holds proportionally more volume.

The biggest benefit to higher pressure would be for sandblasting. Hands down more pressure makes a big difference. Air tools operate at a lower pressure so it's not critical for them.

I just got off the phone with the seller. He messed up his ad...He's asking $500. I sent ECJ5 member, iharding a PM to see if he'd go look at it for me since he's in Tacoma where the compressor is. We'll see what happens?

Very late to this party, but might look at TP Tools (Air Compressors - TP Tools & Equipment). I don't know what your budget is. I bought a Quincy 5HP 2-stage about 2 years ago and I'm very pleased with it...

Focker is a tough nut to crack. Can't seem to convince him to get one, to spend the money we want him to. We've spent countless hours, plenty of teaser pictures, shining lights in his eyes, hypnotizing him....nothing seems to phase him. :coffee::):D:lol:

You guys are killing me. Just when I think I'll pull the trigger on the 80 gal Kobalt for what could be as low as $450...You have me looking at that 60 gal Quincy.

I've been dealing with an oilless, 5 CFM portable for over 20 years. Almost anything will be an upgrade, but I get... The Quincy would most likely be the last compressor I'd ever have to buy... Hand down to the boy someday.
