I thought I would post some photos here of my (has it really been) seven year project nearing completion...

As found near Wichita, Kansas in 2008. It was an airport tug, running (sort of) and completely original including matching ACM numbers on the body and tailgate and original engine.

Very early model with tool indents, square windshield washers, column shift and lots of F-script bolts throughout the drivetrain.

    Cutting out rust

    To the blaster

Wheels blasted and painted and new NDT's mounted

    Engine rebuild

    Putting it back together

Still working on the body - homebuilt rotisserie

    The Willys workshop

Bolted together for the move across town (and a little driving around)

The body is back off the frame and on a new rotisserie where I sand and sand and sand until I decide I'm through sanding (soon) and then paint it Harvest Tan before final assembly takes place. I'm just waiting on the rain to stop...

Cool. My first jeep was a 45 2A. Yours is as original as they get: keyed coil, 3 data plates, column shift intact etc. The guys over at the CJ2A page would be drooling over this one.

Mine was SN# around 11200, putting it built in November 45.

same for me, I am on mac. Maybe the problem?
But I see the 'alias' which is the Davy Crockett atomic bomb on a Jeep.
This is terrific to see how an atomic bomb can be so small.
And that it is possible to use one, the world is crazy now.

Could it have been done any better? I doubt it. Hard to improve on perfection. Love it.
