Trying to determine the last year the Monroe Hydraulic Lift was offered as a CJ5 option. Would also like to know when the Stratton Lift was first offered.

If anyone has a "newer" manual, I'd appreciate if you could take a look at the farm equipment offerings. I have the repro version for sale on e-Bay, but have not been able to locate books from the late 1950s up to 1970.

    Thanks,

I just purchased another 1960 edition off of e-Bay. Another blow to the budget. Still interested in any information from 1956-1960.

    Thanks,

An idea: Have you ever tried contacting Monroe to see if they have any company history buffs willing to look back into company files. (Monroe Auto Equipment Co., Monroe, Michigan)

I have been working with a retired employee of MAECO, Jerry Wattkop, who is the curator of a Monroe display at the Monroe County Historical Museum. I had originally tried to contact Tenneco, who owns Monroe, but they never responded. Jerry is a great guy and has been a wonderful help. But he doesn't have access to the official company records.

Thanks. I purchased reproduction manuals that covered 57-59 and 60-62. The books were published each year, I think, and the repros are combined publications. It doesn't help me determine the last year the Monroe lift was offered. Your note makes me think that I need to continue to search for individual years.

I'm going to do a count, but I think at least a third of the earliest books listings were farming related equipment (3 point hitch and the plows, discs, mowers, etc.). By 1960 there were only a few farming related items. I'm writing a series of articles on the 3 point lifts and would really like to see original individual manuals from the years 1955-1960.
