Does anyone know of a source for new, original style fuel and vacuum pumps for the F134? The Airtex 4032 used to be available as a suitable replacement (non glass bowl), but as I understand it, Airtex has gone under.

Hmm. Its not clear to me if their kit is for the glass dome type or the metal type. Looks like they may still have some Airtex pumps in stock, but my last pump was an Airtex and IMO it was very low quality. Didn't last at all.

I mached up the part number on my pump to the kit number. Wasn't a hard rebuild once I got everything cleaned about an hour to put together. Hardest part was getting the diaphrams hooked together. The rebuild kit quality was on par with the old parts. My pump was a reman at some time had a cool rebuilt tag on it.

Mine was the ac glass dome one. I've seen a few on ebay for cheap if you don't have one.

If yours is an early 4032 from Airtex then it should be rebuildable. The only way to know is to disassemble it and look at the valves. Keep in mind you should take photos at each step for reassembly reference later. If they are held in with a metal plate then you are good to go for a relatively easy rebuild. Check out the folks at Then and Now for quality kits.

I looked, but didn't find a part number to order a rebuild kit for the pump that was on my Jeep when I bought it. It is not a glass dome type. It says "Made in Canada" on the bottom and the top rim.
I couldn't get a great picture since it is still in the jeep.

Here is the failed Airtex replacement pump, which looks identical except for the top portion. I have since returned this to the auto parts store.

I had a reproduction (Omix-Ada I think) but it didn't have the glass bowl. I have a problem where the fuel seems to cut out every now and then with no warning and I suspect the fuel pump. I scored a rebuilt original on eBay with the glass bowl but haven't installed it yet.

Maybe there is junk in your tank that is blocking the pick up?

It says CJ 2A and 3A. Does it also fit CJ5 with the factory F134?

Yes. That model will fit. But don’t buy that one as it is missing the tubes that fit into the vacuum section. I have a Canadian pump like yours. Without the number, which I have yet to find anywhere, it languishes in pieces on a shelf. I also have two AC4693, dual action, glass bowl pumps in pieces on the shelf. I’ve just not gotten around to ordering kits.

The second picture shows the vacuum tubes. They are on the side that faces the firewall.

I wasn't able to find any numbers on it. I ended up buying another Airtex pump, hopefully it will work out better than the first one.

The link I posted for the fuel pumps on ebay above NOS AC 4693 would probably be the correct pump for a 1967 because it has a sliding pillow block.

So bringing up this older thread. Was the glass bowl what came on the CJ5 back in the 50's?
