Had a couple hours today. Figured to put the new tie rod ends on the rebuilt d30. Napa tie rod ends, they'll be decent right? Last one torquing up just before the wrench breaks off the nut strips. Futz for 10 can't get it off. Cutoff wheel cures it. Had another end it torques up fine. Install the zerk fitting nope it strips...tap out larger find a fitting. Ok finished. Next weekday project shake out the greasy box of warn hubs clean and reinstall. One of them had a snapped off screw. Yea!

I have no faith in NAPA anymore. In fact, I don't know what new parts I DO have any faith in.

Ordered a set of 33x10.50x15 BFG All Terrain KM2s. Can't wait for the tires to arrive now....Kind of related...bought a 1970ish Lo-Liner 13 foot camper to tow with the Jeep. It's weathered, but not leaky at all and structurally in great shape. Nearly free also...

I had the same issue with acc. pump for the 2g and finally ordered some from quadrajetparts.com which work great. Give them a call and they'll hook you up with an improved pump assembly. I polished my pump well with rubbing compound while it was apart, and I've not had any issues since new pump assy install about 2 or 3 months ago, driven daily.

    Thats where i got mine.
I found an old pump from a parts carb and transfered the rubber part over. That was good. Just the rod came out of the plastic.

What color red is that? it looks very similar to the red I used on my JEEP, from a 2014 Chevy Corvette.

Just fix a bad error i made myself.

I'm running a custom fab gas tank and i bought a universal fuel sender and gauge. This spring took it out and with the gasket in bad shape i decided to put some Right stuff (black rtv) and found out on my recent fuel issu that this type or rtv is the baddest thing i could put as a gasket.

So dripping of rtv got in the tank and plug the pick-up tube.

Had to take of the tank, give it a good wash and i use a cork gasket for the fuel sender.

Just need to put the rear bumper on and i'm done.

    Is "Eynon" Enon Valley?

Cut a big hole and welded in fuel filler for underseat tank for my 73. Fabbed up a strap, welded in some angle iron on floorboard to locate the tank. Almost ready for sealer, then bedliner, then topcoat on the outside. Been a long time comin but getting close.

Just ordered the factory steering wheel and horn button kit from Kaiser Willys. The little aftermarket Grant steering wheel will be no more.

Got a box of parts from Rockauto today......for the 11" front brakes. Ordered all Raybestos and Wagner brand parts.(y) And guess what............every one of the parts is made in China. :n:

I totally give up on trying to support the domestic automotive industry. Just buy the junk and figure it's not gonna fit or last more than a couple years. This way I won't be disappointed when it fails. Where do i apply for my lemming club card?

yeah, just because its a name brand does not mean its made in USA. Honestly though, from what i see, if it comes from a good name brand, it should be of similar quality as the USA stuff. Its just disappointing when it shows up.

wet sanded some runs out of epoxy primer on the hood I can see all the wrinkles in the sheet metal better now. Collected more sheet metal parts for prep of primer when I next spray.

Found two 'Y' shaped cracks I forgot about behind the grill where it flanges outward to push air to the radiator ... one on each side in a corner. Will drill those out then weld up with a small washer or similar to spread that crack around...

ordered some parts from TA performance (pushrods and HV oil pump) ... waiting for brown santa to drive up in next few days.

Put some SW gauges in a shopping cart (amp, temp, oil pressure, vac and a 6k Tach) but I didn't pull the trigger. I'm looking at putting them in my dash (currently uncut)... wrestling that in my mind for a 'factory installed accessory' look. Looking at forum picts from the past on other's dashes, what the Renegade gauge placement looked like and so I waffle on where (not what so much ).

Waved good-bye to one. To a good home I think. A project I was probably never gonna get to. And, I need the money. 3 left.

Can't wait to see your new boots fhoehle. Wanna put those on my '71. Also want to find a spent pair of SS Boggers to throw on the rear for the sand drag/hill climb look.
