We've spent about 2 years building a flatfender 4BT... Why two years? Cuz 4 kids and life that's why lol and other Jeep builds in between..
    Why a Cummins 4BT?
Because of a few reasons but the number one reason is that as a hobby in Nebraska we run the Platte and Loup Rivers in the summer time and literally take them to the deepest water we can find..we have done this since I was a kid in the 80s and most people use a gas engine and we are limited with our ignition system as to how much they will take..
We load up coolers tunes and bikinis and cruise slow through the river seeing how far we can push the limits.. There are up to 300 jeeps a couple weekends out of the year..

So like everyone you want something different that will out perform everyone else so my theory is even though I've ran the river many years successfully I wanted to build something that no one else had and maintain as light of a rig as possible.. Obviously the 4bt is not light but way lighter than a 6 cylinder.

    Specs:
4bt Chevy 4 speed 205 t case 60 rear Detroit 4.56s front 44 (soon to be 60) Detroit 4.56s YJ frame 48 flatty body stretched 4.5" original front clip 39x13.59x17 irok radials on 17x10 beadlocks rear mounted fuel tank hand made tube fenders and rear tube flares..

It's getting close to being done but have to finish:
Spring over with 2.5" BDS Chevy Front leaves YJ BDS 2.5" rears corbeau suspension seats bed line inside Autometer gauges wiring and some changes to the cage

Here are some pics of the project

    Pic of drivetrain

    Early stage after drivetrain installed

Rear steel tube flares being created and previous owners hack job on the tub being corrected

I would post a bunch more pics off my phone but it's not letting me as the images average about 3.75 MB

looks like the hack job in the rear was so you can get full tuck with those huge tires. now it looks like your tube fenders are going to be the limiters. looks nice though.. i really wanted to do a 4bt but didn't

I can still get full tuck with the way we are building the flares..I just don't care for a cut off back look and can make my suspension tuck after I get my spring over done

Ya the driveshaft isn't super long but with the spring over done it won't be as bad as a person would think

I started out planning a 4bt in mine, and not a day goes by that I dont regret not doing it. My engine rebuild cost me as much as a takeout 4bt with a t-18 behind it already. Divorced transfer case and I was done..... live and learn. Next one is 4bt for sure. I'm watching for a flat fender.
