    It's purdy!
Limited, so I assume it has all the whistles & bells.

What problems were you having with the Cherokee?

3 separate major issues in the last 24 months as well as various minor things.
    Major issues are
    1) Transmission shifting into neutral at highway cruise speeds. This happened at about 3K miles and was corrected with a software update. It has not happened since.
    2) At 22k miles the oil filter housing cracked and blew spilled oil all down the engine and the underside of the vehicle including the exhaust. They replaced the housing and cleaned up the Jeep.
    3) Last week the rear-end started making a popping noise and you could feel it while accelerating. This is at 35,700 miles. This is what prompted me to start looking for a replacement. The service advisor called me yesterday to congratulate me on the new purchase. He told me they had to order an entire new rear end assembly including the half shafts.

One other problem that has been on-going since 19k miles is a pronounced whine while under moderate acceleration through 2500 RPM in second and 3rd gear. I reported it when it first started and every time I have been back since. I kept getting told they could not reproduce the problem. This time the service adviser went with me on a test drive so I could demonstrate the popping noise. I also demonstrated the whine. They had not even looked into that problem when I talked to them yesterday. With the know problem of the weak snap ring on the 2014 transmissions, I am expecting the resolution to be either a new transmission or a rebuild of the current one to replace that snap-ring.

The 3.6L v-6. It is suprisingly quick. I am impressed with it.

Seems a very nice car. I hope that quality will be OK. I see that in France the big Toyota 4x4 are sold on second hand at 200.000 miles with success.
I wish that the Jeep could be well appreciated at 300.000 miles on the 2nd hand market!

Most of them. DOes not have the tech group which is good. I don't need a car that tries to drive for me.

hate to say the 14's had some issues. My wife's has been good except for the harsh shifting in the trans. software has gotten it better but still that 2-3 shift is harsh. there is nothing to rebuild in these transmissions. if its bad it gets replaced. there was a RRT that included a very small number of vehicles that could have the snap ring replaced. Don[t know why we cant do it for the others that do the same thing. body and suspension wise they are very solid vehicles. Just wish they did something else for that fricken drivetrain...

    I like the grands8)

At 600 miles I must say I am very happy. Smooth comfortable ride and a butter smooth 8 speed transmission. I can hardly tell when it changes gears.

I had the skids and tow hooks installed yesterday. Feel much better now. But, I am curious why Jeep does not make a transmission skid plate? Just a plastic shield. There are 2 aftermarket companies that make them and both are currently sold out.

It was odd that the dealer had the 4x4 with either the tow package or the off-road I package but not both on the lot. I bought the tow package because it is impossible to add all the stuff from it after-market. With the addition of the skid plates I have everything the off-road package gets except the trail rated badge. ;)
