Picked this up at a swap meet this weekend. Guy wanted scrap price for it so I couldn't turn it down. I think it's 55-71 but thought I'd ask the experts. I'll prob just clean it up and sell it seeing as I don't have any early cj's. It has all the glass, hinges, and brackets except the gas hole filler piece. So did I score guys or waste space in the trailer??

As the id tag states it's a Kelly top, and looking at the pics again it's a Bonanza top which was a little more fancy since it came with a headliner and a dome light. The indentations are there for a wood grain vinyl type stick on trim. Also it will fit through a '75, plus I don't know that there was a filler piece with that top for the gas indentation since the doors are different than the Myers type.

Thanks for the info Glenn!! It still has the headliner and some light intact. I kinda thought they might be owner add ons, wasn't sure.

I took some time today and cleaned the top up good. Had years of buildup on it. Worst rust was the bottom of one side piece, rest wasn't bad. [IMG]

The top cleaned up pretty good. Mine was rusted just like yours is on that side. Thanks for the pics. :)

overall it's in pretty good shape. I wish that one side wasn't rusty but for the price I can't complain. I decided yesterday I'm going to resell it Unkel Dale. I have the half cab on my CJ now and I love it. I considered buying another jeep for this top but the wife said no more :(
I'll post it on the CL/EBay thread and if anyone on here wants it I'll give them a good deal.

It is good there all all the parts, and not too much rust. Better to re-sell if no need!

Mine is in good condition, but I see that rust find always a new spot to come, so I have to treat again to have a perfect hard-top.

What does a top like that usually run? Some searches showed from 200-300. That accurate?

I like that too! :) That is the only thing I don't like about the Kelly top, the body contour is hidden.

These 2 tops in the pictures have the roof like mine, which has the visor on the front. In '69 I bought a new CJ5 and the dealer ordered a hard top for it and the one they got was a Kelly with the visor. I'm speculating that the first of that style of top had the roof with no visor and at some point they changed the style to the one with the visor. Great find Kalva!

Thanks, got the Top Home. Its a Bonanza III per the plate riveted to the doors. It was roller painted that mud brown a long time ago, and has the original interior dome light  I did find out from the owner it came off a Tuxedo Jeep.
