Non-hardening Permatex is my "old reliable" for general use.

good refresher. wondered why I had all those flavors in my toolbox from years ago I'd forgotten about. not just like fishing lures for water color...

Realize I'm missing some red as I've been using black for ages as a go-to and my copper spray long ago disappeared (worked great sealing battery terminals).

One thing I found was 'let it dry' for a few hours before filling (my case, I did it overnight). I did this on the wet wheel bearing kit when i converted my boat trailer bearings a few years ago. No leaky until this year when it didn't move for 8mos. Re-filled and drove and no-more-leaky...

checked out the permatex web site, then picked up some #2 for my oil pan, then looked in my gasket seal drawer, and yep, had some, its just been frozen every year for 10+ years , so new won't hurt
    Thanks for the input

The Indian Head gasket shellac was original stuff used on Indian motorcycles. Ha Ha Ha !
Not for use on Harleys, but it will also work on Tecumseh injuns.
I meant engines, dang it !

I don't use anything on gaskets.. That's what the gasket is for.. Maybe a dab here and there to hold it in place..
