A webpage for classic Jeeps
I've added an article on Ziv Shahar's 1974 Army CJ-5 to the featured Jeep section.
Ziv shares the story of the Israeli CJ-5 and some pictures of his 1974 on the trail.
Homebrew2 has uploaded several PDFs of military Jeep service manuals for us including the MB, M38, and M38A1. Be sure to thank him in our forums!
Dr. DanteIII from our forum has put together a writeup for us. He walks us through the steps to installing a HEI in an AMC V8 engine.
Two of our forum members have decided to take a little trip in their flat fenders. Paul and Evan are "Dueling Flatfenders", maybe coming to a town near you. Be sure to check their blog so you can keep up with their progress.
I've upgraded our forum to the latest vBulletin version and installed a new theme. Members so far report that it seems faster and more responsive. Also the gallery was upgraded last weekend after being off-line for a short while.
What better way to honor our veterans than with vintage photos from WWII?
KCJEEP recently gave me some hard copies to scan of photos from a friend of his, who will remain unnamed at KCJEEP's request.
I've uploaded the three images that Kevin provided me last weekend for us all to enjoy, in the Vintage Photos section of the gallery
Jayhawkclint took the time to set down and write up an article on density altitude adjustments of carburetors. It's an interesting read and not hard to understand and it's well worth understanding.
Earlycj5.com has been used for teaching?
Mr. Hicks at the Spence Elementary School in Houston, Texas used this webpage to teach with? Mr. Hicks is a technology specialist at the school and used this page to illustrate different points about the Internet and using it as an information resource.
We're glad you found it useful!
Forum member Ab was kind enough to share some photos from a trail ride last year in Germany. They're now posted in the Trail Rides section of the gallery for you to enjoy.
In addition to the usual mayhem in the forum I've actually done a few things to the page lately.
I've added a few more links in the transmission and transfer case section, the SM420 swap page, and fixed the RSS autodetection in the classifieds.
Mortten saw the '60 Owners Manual so he scanned the 1969 Owners Manual for us as well so we could see just how much Jeep had changed their methods by then.
It is interesting to compare the two manuals.

We now have a 1971 CJ-5 Renegade Wiring Diagram by T.R. Yelton (mnemonic76), http://www.earlycj5.com/tech/electrical/Renegade_I_Wiring.pdf.
Thank you for a very detailed wiring diagram that does a great job illustrating a Renegade wiring diagram.
fheadcj6 found, scanned and shared a 1960 Model CJ-5 and CJ-6 Owners Manual with us. Pretty neat, especially considering he's in Australia! Thanks Chris.
